A successful registration at the chosen institution follows the submission of other relevant documents. The process may take four to six weeks in terms of assessment depending upon the institute in which the student has applied. Once this offer letter is received the visa process is initiated with the department of Home affairs Australia.

There are two types of visas categories in this stream:

Student Visa (Subclass 500)

In Order to apply for Student Visa (Subclass 500), a student can easily apply for different full-time courses including Higher Education, Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses, English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS), admission in primary or secondary school and post graduate research degrees in a recognized education institution.

The eligibility criteria for this type of visa is:

  • Student enrolment in a registered course of study
  • Evidence of financial capacity
  • English language proficiency test
  • Evidence of organized welfare arrangement for students under 18 years
  • Meet Genuine temporary entrant requirement
  • Evidence of good moral character
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) a week prior to the arrival in Australia

With this visa, one can travel in and out of Australia, participate in selected study course in Australia and work for 40 hours per two weeks (or as specified in the visa conditions) once the course has started. This visa allows temporary stay of 5 years in Australia however the length of stay would be determined by the course chosen. Our team will help you determine what kind of visa will suit your needs.

This visa allows the inclusion of family members while lodging the application. The family included can only be your spouse, or the dependent child of you and your spouse who is unmarried and less than 18 years of age. You can travel in and out of Australia until the visa expires, however the time spent out of Australia will not extend the length of the visa.

Student Guardian Visa (Subclass 590)

In order to apply for student Guardian Visa (Subclass 590) one needs to be a legal guardian or a relative to accompany the visa holder if they are under 18 years of age. This visa allows temporary stay in Australia and the length of the stay will be determined by the course selected. This visa allows moving to Australia and providing care and support for a person that holds student visa and is under 18 years of age or above under exceptional circumstances. The following are some of the key requirements for the student guardian visa (Subclass 590):

  • The applicant under this category needs to have a genuine intention to provide support and general welfare for the student. He/she must be a parent, a person with legal custody of the student or a relative over 21 years of age who is nominated in writing by the parents.
  • The applicant is required to exhibit good financial strength to cover all boarding, lodgings, costs of education and food for himself and the student.
  • All the applicants of student guardian must provide evidence of enough health insurance for the entire period of stay in Australia.
  • All the applicants must prove their legal identity and relationship with the students with legal documentation.
  • All the applicants under guardian pretext must meet the genuine temporary entrant requirements
  • Meet character requirements set by the government
  • Must sign the Australian value statement
  • The applicant must not be in debt to the Australian government
  • Must not have had a previous application revoked or a visa cancelled
  • Must have the best interest of the child

Training visa subclass 407

This is a temporary visa that allows an applicant to stay in Australia for up to 2 years approx. You can visit Australia in order to complete a work based training that would allow you to improve your skills relevant to your current occupation, a professional training program, or expertise in area of tertiary study. You must be sponsored or be nominated (unless your sponsor is a Commonwealth Government agency) or you have to be invited (if your sponsor is a Commonwealth Government agency). Eligibility criteria includes that the applicant must

  • Have an approved sponsor
  • Age must be 18 years or more
  • Meet the health requirements set by the Australian government
  • Meet the character requirements
  • Have functional English speaking skills
  • Have paid back the debt (if owed any) to the Australian government
  • Have the best interests of the child
